Long time since my last post!
Well, I've been REALLY busy at work, so I kind of got behind at AM
I'm trying to catch up with my assignment, so as soon as I have something new I will post.
This is my last assignment. I had to choose between some moves, and I decided to go with the jump, cause I really wanted to study how the tigers body works as it falls!

Oww, those last two weeks ware tough!!!
Well I'll start by telling you guys what I had to animate! My assignment was actually a advanced walk. We had couple of options to choose regards what are we gonna to animate, and I kind of mix up some of that options to come up with what I have here!
My purpose with this shot, was to show some personality and thought going through the tigers mind, I used the firefly to play around with the cat. I didn't do anything too fancy, I was just looking for something to motivate the tigers action!

Good to be here again!!
Well, great week as always, a lot of things to share!
This week we dug into the quadrupeds anatomy, nothing to fancy, just general things like the bone structure! Is good to point out that you don't have to know all the bone names, you just need to understand how they work in order to not mess up the rig with some pose that the animal would not able to do.
My assignment was to finish my walk and also start to plan my next assignment, that will be something like a personality walk!

Hey Guys!!!
Week 2!! This week was really cool, We have two awesome lectures, first with Rick O'conner showing how does he approach a middle weight cat vanilla walk, and second with Luci Napier showing her techniques with the vanilla walk!

The assignment was to start the vanilla walk, but not to put a lot of work on it, the final details as tail, fingers, head and scapula would be done next week, so this is what I come up with, I hope you like!

Hey Guys!

Week 1, and I already have a lot of exciting things to show!
First of all, I got a really talent mentor and with a lot of experience, Charles Alleneck! (click in his name to see his IMDb) He's really nice guy, and I'm sure I will learn tons from him!
This first week was really "easy", We just had to do some Sketches that shows weight, energy and motion, and also do two poses with the new rig "the cat" which is awesome!

Hey guys!! you probably saw that already on my demoreel!
There's a few changes regards to animation (almost impossible to see with the naked eye lol)and also and most visible the render hehe!
I did the light by myself (that's why is not as good as I wanted to be) but I think is better than have just a "preview render" on my demo!
So, I hope you guys like it!

Fala Galera!! Vocês provavelmente já viram essa anima na minha demo!
Há algumas alterações na animação (quase impossíveis de ver a olho nu rs) e também no render (o mais visível hehe)!
Eu iluminei a cena sozinho (por isso que não está tão bom quanto eu gostaria) Porém ainda assim é melhor do que ter só um "preview".
Espero que vocês curtam!

Hi guys!!!!!

This is my "almost" final Dialog line (still need to address my mentor notes)
It was a real challenge for me, and I did learn a lot from this assignment!

I still can see a lot of things to improve, but, for now, I'll leave it and focus on my next assignment witch is the 2 character dialog.

I'm also posting here the Face assignment where I should get a real person expression, and reproduce it in to the bishop model!

Fala galera!! Bem, o motivo o qual eu não venho postando nada essas útimas semanas é que simplesmente meu último exercicio ficou "uma bosta" usando do Português claro!
Bem, como eu disse a alguns post atráz, as vezes sua animação não preenche todas expectativas criadas, e isso não é motivo para ficar desapontado, ao menos você aprendeu algo durante esse processo!
Eu não vou postar essa animação até que eu consiga arruma-la e deixar ela no mínimo "assistivel" ahaha!
Certo, fora essa pequena frustração, eu finalmente peguei o rig Bishio uhuuull!!, estou agora trabalhando em minha cena de dialogo com um personagem, espero que essa fique boa rs!
Bem.....hora de postar algo!
Antes de animar minha cena, Eu tive que estudar alguns audios e gravar referências para ver qual delas era mais apelativa e intereçante para explorar!

Hey everybody, well the reason for I have not posted anything those last few weeks, is because my last assignment got out my hand and it ended up looking like crap! Well as I said some posts ago, sometimes your animation don't fill out your expectations and it is not something to be disappointed, at least you learned something from this process!
I will not post that until a have time to turn it in at least "watchable" haha!
OK, besides that little frustration, I finally got Bishop RIG uhuuullll!!!, and I'm now working on my dialog Scene!
Time to post something!!
Before start to animate my scene, I have to study some dialog lines and record reference to see witch one has more appealing and beats that would be great to explore!

Bemmm, lá se vão mais 5 semanas, e também o termo "advanced body mechanics", bem o que posso dizer? Esses últimos meses no mentor tem sido muito inspirador, conhecer pessoas tão talentosas e empenhadas realmente é algo que me motiva ainda mais!
Gostaria de agradecer ao meu mentor Wayne Gilbert, que foi extremamente atencioso e prestativo! Foi uma honra te-lo como mentor, o cara é fantastico, além de ser a simpatia em pessoa!! Com certeza levarei comigo todos os encinamentos que ele nos passou durante esse trimestre!
Na proxima semana, entrarei em "Introduction to acting", onde irei aprender mais sobre atuação!
Aqui embaixo segue minha animação final, ela completa a saquencia de 3 animações que venho fazendo! Ela foi a mais trabalhosa, porém ganhei uma semana "extra" para refina-la, o que tornou tudo um pouco mais facil!

Wellll, there goes another 5 weeks, and also the term "advanced body mechanics", what can I say? These last months has been very inspiring to me, knowing people that are so talent and committed is really something that motivates me even more!
I'd like to thanks my mentor Wayne Gilbert that was extremely careful and helpful with us! That was a honor have him as my mentor, the guy is amazing, besides being the sympathy in person!! I'll definitely take with me all the knowledge that he gave us during this term!
Next week, I'll go through "Introduction to Acting", where I'm gonna learn more about acting!Down here, follows the final assignment of this term, it also complete the sequence with 3 animations that I did! That was the hardest one, but I had a week more to polish it, what makes everything easier!Also follows all the steps from video reference through the final!
Thanks to Mauricio Löbel who did the light, shader, render and the comp of this sequence!

Falaa galera!!
Bem, no inicio desse termo, eu tive que escolher entre; fazer 3 animações com tematicas difentes, ou então 3 animações com uma única temática que iriam se ligar de algum modo, esse ultimo se chama Anima Jam, que foi o que eu optei por fazer!
A animação desse mês é a continuação da anterior que era do rapaz jogando o tijolo em cima de seu chefe. Espero que gostem do resultado final, pois essa anima me custou algumas noites em claro hehe, faz parte!
Na minha opinião, ainda tem muitas coisas que pode ser melhoradas, mas como ela foi tirada de mim (pelo prazo) tenho que me conformar do modo que está, mesmo porque meu ultimo modulo do Mentor vai ser "Polishing and Portfolio" focado justamente em concertar todas essas imperfeições que não tive tempo de arrumar!

Hiii everybody!!!
Well, this week, I had to choose between; to do 3 animations with different themes, or 3 animations with just one theme which would connect in some way, this last called Anima Jam, the one that I chosen!
This month I animated the continuation of my previous assignment which was the guy dropping bricks upon his boss. I hope you like the final result, cause this piece cost me some sleepless nights hehe, It happens!
In my opinion, there's still a lot of things to be fixed, but it was taken from me by the deadline, I have to comply the way it is, even because my last term is "Polishing and Portfolio", focused exactly in fix all those imperfections that I didn't have time to fix!

Primeiramente, Estou postando aqui embaixo, meu exercicio da semana 3, seguido pelo meu block, block plus e minha referencia, viu? bastante coisas para vocês verem e comentarem!! =D
Esse trimestre no Mentor estamos BEM focados em mecanica do corpo e como ele funciona em algum movimento mais complicados como correr, andar ou qualquer outra coisa que envolva muito equilibrio.
E é claro como sempre, estou me divertindo muito animando!

Bem.....como disse no último post, agora vou demorar um pouco mais do que o usual para postar algo novo, isso devido a nova agenda do mentor, onde eu tenho mais tempo para fazer os assignments!
Essas ultimas semanas foram bem corridas, esse último exercicio exigio muito em termos de refinamento, por ter movimentos muito rapidos com os pés, e giradas etc.. então acabei correndo muito para terminar a tempo!
Confeço que o resultado final não foi muito bem o que eu esperava, isso acontece, as vezes queremos que nosso shot fique tão bom, que acabamos criando uma expectativa muito grande em torno dele, mas enfim, recebi boas criticas do meu mentor, ele fez eu enchergar coisas que haviam passado desapercebidas por mim, e acho que o resultado final mesmo que não me sendo exatamente o que eu queria, acabou ficando legal. Vale a homenagem ao rei do Pop, Michael Jackson!!!
No mentor, ultimamento estamos tendo bastante videos mostrando os variados work-flows de grandes animadores de diferentes estilos (cartoon, realista), e tem sido muito legal conhecer o modo que esses grandes animadores trabalham!
Bem é isso ai galera!!!

Hey Everybody!!!
Well...as I said in the last post, now I'll take more time than usual to post something new due to a new AM schedule, where I have more time to do the assignments!
Those last weeks has been really busy to me, my last assignment required so much in terms of refinement, it has a lot of fast moves on the feet, and turns so on.. end up running to finish it at time!
I confess that the final result wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but sometimes it happen, we put a lot on the shot, creating to much expectation around it, but it's fine! I got some great tips from my mentor, he make me realize things that I wasn't seeing before, and after all the result is working for me. A great tribute to the king of Pop, Michael Jackson!
At Mentor, recently we are having a lot of class showing the work-flows from all kinds of animators (cartoon, realistic),I'm really learning a lot from then!

Fala galeraaaaa!!!! Bemm, primeiramente gostaria de pedir desculpas a todos que vem acompanhando meu blog, pois fazem cerca de 4 semanas que não atualizo! Bem o motivo para isso é que no AM agora os exercicios são divididos de forma diferente, temos 4 semanas para trabalhar em nosso assigment, isso contando; Filmar (ou procurar) referencias, fazer o planejamento, blokar a cena, adicionar os breakdowns(block plus) e refinar, então eu prefiro organizar tudo e postar de uma vez só.

Bem, essa semana a abordagem principal foram os quadris! Eu animei um personagem (que supostamente teria que ser mais feminino) girando 180 graus, foi legal em termos de que estudei bem meu workflow e o tempo que eu levo para animar! Porém, como acabei decidindo o que eu iria animar meio que de ultima hora, eu acabei não me dedicando o quanto que eu queria! Mas bem o resultado final até que me agradou!
Voltando ao mentor outra coisa que mudou, é em relação as opções dos exercicios! Agora temos muito mais possibilidades!Nesse exercicio, ofereceram cerca de 8 opções, entre elas animar o personagem dando pulinhus, girando 360 graus, 180 graus, pular e girar 180 graus, entre outros...

Vou postar aqui juntamente minha referencia, ficou meio gay, mas tudo bem, pagar mico faz parte! (Agradecimentos a minha namorada Carol que me ajudou, tanto com poses mais femininas como para filmar)
Bem chega de falar, ai vai minhas animações, espero que gostem!

Heyyy everybody!!!!, Well, first of all, I would like to apologies for everyone whose follow my blog, cause has been about 4 week without update! the reason for that, is that the exercises in AM are now divided in a different way, we have 4 weeks to work in our assignment, which is include; Record (or search for) references, to do the plan, block the scene, add the breakdowns (block plus) and refining, so I prefer first to organize everything then post it all at once!

Well, this week the main approach was the HIPS! I did a character (which supposedly has to be feminine) turning 180 degrees! It was really nice to do because I could studied my workflow as well and also realized how much time I take to animate something like that!
Back to mentor, other thing that has changed, is the options to do the exercises, now we get a lot of possibilities! This week we had about 10 choices, between then; take a big step to the side, kick a ball, Jump over a gap, from a stopped position, take a big step forward and settle, and more...

I'll also to post my reference, which is kind of gay but, is fine make a fool of yourself sometimes! (tks to my girlfriend Carol, which helps me a lot with the feminine poses and with the record).

Bemm, Week 7, as coisas estão ficando cada vez mais divertidas. Hora de animar o famoso TAILOR! Me diverti muito animando esses dois personagens interagindo (Tailo e One lag), confesso que não pensei que seria tão dificil conseguir um resultado satisfatorio com o Tailor, mas valeu a tentativa!

Weellll, Week 7, things are getting more fun! Time to animate the famous TAILOR! I had such a great time animating this 2 characters interacting ( Tailor and One lag). I had no ideia that it's gonna be so hard to do like it was, but it worth the try!

Eaeee galera!!!, bem, mais uma semana se passou, e dessa vez foi a hora de animar o pêndulo e por em pratica tudo que aprendemos sobre overlapping action!
O nosso assignment era fazer um pendulo indo em linha reta de uma lado para o outro da tela até parar, ou então faze-lo se movimentar em forma de 8. É claro que como sempre eu tinha incrementar, brincar e tentar mostrar um pouco de persnalidade a cena que deveria ter 120 frames como limite de tempo.

The assignment was to do a pendulum going through one side to another of the screen till it stops, or make it move like a 8 line. Of course, like always I had to increase it and try to show some personality in the scene that should have 120 frames as limit time.

Falaa galeraa!!!, semana 5!!! O exercicio foi fazer a fomosa bouncing ball interagindo com um obstaculo! Confeço que nunca me diverti tanto animando coisas simples como uma boucing ball. Definitivamente ja percebi uma melhora no time e spacing das minhas animações.
Bem, além da boucing ball, precisamos fazer sketches de pessoas mostrando devastação (devastation), e junto, é claro,entregar também todos planejamentos e sketches!

Hi everybody!!, Week 5!! The exercice was to do the famous bouncing ball going through an obstacle course! I have to say, I never had such a great time animating simple things like a boucing ball. Definally I get an improvement at the time and spacing of my animations.
Well we also needed to do sketches of people showing devastation,
besides of course, to do all the planning process!

Infelizmente esse ano não tivemos nenhum brazuca lá, porém estou aqui para mudar isso ano que vem hehehe. Nem preciso falar da qualidade das animações que estão sensasionais! Destaque para a dancinha "Can't touch this", muito bom!

Hiii guys, weel finally Animation Mentor.com cames out with the Summer Student Showcase 2009, Unfortunately this year we dont had any brazilian on it, anyway I'm here to change it next year hehehe. I don't need to talk about the quality of animations, that are ameanzing!! The spotlight for me is the "Can't touch this" dance, great work!

Fala galeraa!, Bem essa semana no mentor foi um pouco mais sussegado, o assignment da semana foi fazer duas bouncing ball com pesos diferentes, uma leve e outra pesada e entregar o planejamento dessa animação. O mentor também pediu para que alguns alunos (inclusive eu) entregasem a revisão da pose da semana passada.

Hii guysss!!, Well this week at AM was kind of relex! I mean, the assigment was to do two bouncing balls showing weight, one havy and the other light, I also needed to upload on the site the planning process. My Mentor ask for some classmates (include myself) to upload the review of the execitment pose.

Semana 3 do Animation Mentor, dessa vez os sketches teriam que ser de pessoas demonstrando entusiasmo.

Alem disso precisei fazer uma boulcing ball simples, sem Squash & Stretch com cerca de 100 frames no maximo, e entregar todo o planejamento da minha cena.
